"Retail-Nook"
Ever since we moved into our new building (August
2005) we have been asked if we carried greeting cards.... perhaps
this was because we already offered note cards, postcards and
prints... or perhaps this was because our building had once housed
a Hallmark store... or maybe we just looked like the kind of
place that would have them. Regardless of the reason for such
repeated enquiries, we have been pondering this, and Jon (one
of staff members) kept prodding us to offer more retail items...
but we never got around to it, until...
January of 2008 the Northern Light Christian Bookstore
closed their doors -- but they wanted a way for their customers
to continue to get the wonderful greeting cards made by DaySpring.
After Jon talked with them, and then myself and Tom talked with
them -- we decided to give it a go!
Besides DaySpring's cards, we also offer Gwen Frostic's lovely woodland block printing,
as well as local photographer's and artist's notecards - and
local calendars, license plates, etc.
Spring 2009 Update:
we just added Local & Regional
Books and DVDs plus a few other items, and rearranged
our card rack to make it easier for folks to go straight to what
they needed - stop by for a visit sometime and check out the
selection!
