We are a Full-Service Graphics & Printing Company ~ established in 1976, in Calumet, Michigan, by Tom Litsenberger (artist, illustrator, draftsman, high quality darkroom tech and pressman, with a teaching certificate in Industrial Education - Printing/Drafting). Prior to opening his own shop, he had already established a printing facility for the State of Alaska, Aviation Division.
Tom was joined nearly a decade later by "Bj" - (Bobbi Jean) Bedard (artist, illustrator, darkroom tech, computer nerd and art director - who eventually became Mrs. Litsenberger). Her previous employers were newspapers and print shops in the UP and Milwaukee area.
Together have employed many talented graphic artists, experienced pressmen and other production workers and great customer service reps over the years.
The Print Shop services clients throughout Upper Michigan, primarily, though not exclusively, in the Western Upper Michigan area (with the occasional out of state client too!). We service both small and large companies, charities, churches, civic groups, government offices, contractors as well as individuals.
The majority of our work comes from companies that call, email and fax in orders, and with many repeat orders that kept our staff busy even during the height of the pandemic when "walk-in" customers were sparse.
The shop's on-sight manufacturing processes include traditional offset as well as full-color digital printing, full bindery services, large format Giclée artist prints, sign and banner work and heat pressed apparel. We also have a fully qualified art department, as well as "lobby services" for folks that require simple photocopies, faxing, and document scanning.
In addition to in-house manufacturing The Print Shop also has many industry suppliers and specialty houses that we work with in order to provide customers with a virtually unlimited selection of print, sign and apparel related items.
Our first priority is to meet our customers’ needs ~ and to do that we embrace both old school methods of traditional offset printing as well as the latest in full-color digital printing ~ we are a combination of artisans, fine craftsmen, production warriors and computer nerds ~ giving you the best of all our knowledge and skills!
We are constantly evolving, expanding and investigating new types of equipment to better service our clients ~ so if we didn’t do something the last time you checked with us, it might be that we are doing it now!
