FRONT COUNTER RECEPTIONIST/ORDER CLERK/PRODUCTION ASSISTANT:
Our's is a very busy, high stress office. We have been needing a part-time person for many months now but have been hesitant because of covid (both owners are very high risk), yet we know the next couple months could be the busiest of the year (Nov. Dec. traditionally are) so we are interested in seeking help, and prefer finding a long term person (but temp is doable). The right individual must have great customer service skills, a good attitude when under pressure, dexterity with hand tools, ease in working with computers and copiers, capable of carrying 50lb boxes of printing up and down stairs and out on deliveries. Must have good driving record, ability to learn and retain many details. Must be extremely covid-safe and be able to maintain covid-safe policies. Please note: this is NOT a creative position, a left-brained person would do well in this job. Masks are required, vaccination is not. Shop is open M-F, 9-5, prefer person work mid-day hours. Resumes and References appreciated. Learn more about us at www.theprintshophoughton.com

SOME FYI:
During the early days of covid we laid off both of our employees when our governor shut down the state, and thankfully it wasn't long before we were able to hire back a long time production warrior. We hesitated hiring back the front counter person because we didn't feel we could guarantee him full-time hours, even tho we really needed someone like him, but just part-time. Things have been a wee bit bumpy for our business during 2020 and 2021, mostly because of how covid has affected some our customers (many of whom are restaurants, event related and tourist related businesses), which also made us wary about hiring/increasing our expenses.
We are very thankful to have remained in operation and to be striving and thriving (when so many businesses, including many printing companies, did not fair so well). Our workload has been steadily increasing, to where there are many times the 3 of us are doing the jobs of 5-6 people ~ help is needed! For the last several months we have been consistently turning work away because we just don't have the manpower to take care of everyone that calls/comes through our doors ~ the last thing we ever want to do is turn potential customers away!! We are here to service the community, not chase them away! Therefore, we are hoping to find someone who is eager to work, could train into the position, be a part of our team, and strive to keep us all safe during these covid times = not easy shoes to fill eh?
Because of covid we are VERY apprehensive about brining another person on staff as currently Tom and Bj can work on the office/lobby level without the need for masks, and our 1 employee can work in the pressroom/sign department for the most part without a mask too ~ only when we come together in the same space do we put them on (or when we wait on customers*, or when a service tech needs to come repair a machine). To bring in a new staff person will require wearing masks pretty much all day long for Tom and Bj (and this new staff person of course) ~ a huge reason why we've pressed on with just the 3 of us for this long.
*who come into hall from parking deck, or into covid-vestibule thru our front doors - clients do not come into our lobby or offices
Bj cannot be vaccinated (and has damaged lungs, and breathing issues), Tom is vaccinated, but is on chemo (so the vaccine may not have responded correctly for him), and we both have other health issues on the "very high risk" list ~ so you can see why we need to be careful in who we hire, and IF we hire.
Because of this covid situation it would be VERY HELPFUL (tho not required) for applicants to share with us what their social situation is like ~ are you a social butterfly, hanging out with a variety of people, going to church, frequenting bars, going to concerts, and are you unmasked when you do this? ~or~ are you isolating as much as possible, social distancing and maintaining masks while out and about? We appreciate your openness and honesty, and hope you understand our desire to keep ourselves, our staff, and our customers safe, healthy and alive.
Please be aware: we have lost friends to covid, and many of our friends and customers have lost loved ones to this virus, we know people who "recovered" but have long-hauler issues ~ reasons why we really do take this seriously. We pray that everyone can "Live Long and Prosper" and will do our part to perpetuate that.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
