Fall 2023:
Yes this is the same position we had open not long ago, and we hired a great guy, but he has recently been offered a full-time job in his field, so we are very happy for him, but sad to see him go.
So we are still searching for that permanent new member for our team!
FYI: Aiden (former employee, Tech student and friend) is back in town so you may also see him around again and if we get in a real pinch I'm sure Lucy (former employee from back in the '90s, and long time friend) won't mind driving up to help us, but seeing them should not be an indicator that we aren't still looking for a new person.
If you want to make sure we have your resume on file, you can apply online by clicking above, thru email or by dropping off a hardcopy/printed resume with references we will also have an application form we will want you to fill out by hand.

Our thoughts are that this is a Part-Time position, however, hours might end up needing to be full-time if work load increases (but may need to decrease if work load drops again*)
We are looking for someone to be a part of our team, where we all wear many hats and morph between different job duties.
The primary work this Part-Time person will do is:
Front Counter, Clerical & Copying Services
Ideal Candidate:
•Friendly with customers
•Upbeat personality (even when busy and under stress)
•Must be USA citizen
•Clear manner of speech important
•Experience in Word, Publisher, Excel, Acrobat and networked printers very helpful (we can train)
•Detail Minded and Detailed Record Keeping is critical
•Neat handwriting is important
•Strong phone contact handling skills
•Active Listening ability and Note Taking will be needed
•Will need to be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
•Physically able to carry 50lb boxes of paper up and down stairs
•Work hours are Mon - Fri, 10am-3pm.
We are hoping for a permanent new staff member but will consider temps (like our current Tech student who has been awesome).
*An outgoing and confident individual who can quickly learn all about our shop could help bring in work by visiting clients and potential customers just to see if they have any work we could assist them with (as well as be able to suggest new things we could do for them) - this would in turn help keep this employee's hours up.

SOME FYI ON WHY WE HAVE THIS OPEN POSITION:
Prior to covid we had 4 full-time folks on staff, and were looking to hire 1 or 2 new individuals (we were really that busy!), however, when covid hit we were forced to lay off both of our employees when our governor shut down the state. Thankfully it wasn't long before we were able to hire back a long time production warrior. We hesitated hiring back the full-time front counter person because we didn't feel we could guarantee him full-time hours, even tho we really needed someone like him, but just part-time.
As with most businesses out there, things were a wee bit bumpy for our business during 2020 and 2021, mostly because of how covid has affected some our customers (many of whom are restaurants, event related and tourist related businesses), which also made us wary about hiring/increasing our expenses. But, as our customers recovered and got busier we did too.
We are very thankful to have remained in operation and to be striving and thriving (when so many businesses, including many printing companies, did not fair so well). Our workload has been steadily increasing, and the upward trajectory does seem to be a trend we can rely on. Because the 3 of us are so highly experienced we have been managing to do the jobs of 5-6 people at times ~ but we can't keep up that pace forever, so help is very much needed.
When there is less then 4 of us on staff, we end up consistently turning work away because we just don't have the manpower to take care of everyone that calls/comes through our doors (especially when so many orders tend to be last-minute rush orders that we don't have the option to schedule in with our other work) ~ the last thing we ever want to do is turn potential customers away!! We are here to service the community, not chase them away! Therefore, we are hoping to find someone who is eager to work, could train into the position and become a solid and reliable part of our team.
A SIDE NOTE, INCASE COVID SHOULD RETURN IN FORCE AGAIN:
In the event that we see another worrisome outbreak of covid (or another highly transmissible virus) anyone we hire will have to be agreeable to wearing a mask while in the building, as Bj has damaged lungs, breathing issues, and autoimmune diseases, Tom has cancer and is on chemo, and is elderly, so we are both on the "very high risk" list. We also have many very high risk customers as well that we will need to protect. Please be aware: we have lost both customers and friends to covid, and many of our friends and customers have lost loved ones to this virus too, we know people who "recovered" but now have long-hauler issues ~ reasons why we really do take this seriously. We pray that everyone can "Live Long and Prosper" and will do our part to perpetuate that.
