InDesign files . . .
As we are hardcore QuarkXpress users we don't know much about using InDesign -- we used it's predecessor PageMaker back in the day, and did trial versions of InDesign -- but we didn't see anything that thrilled us... only purchasing it more recently because some of our clients used it and needed some help navigating file problems.
The newest copy we have is CS3, so if you wish to hire us to revamp a layout, we will need it saved in this lower version... otherwise you can provide us with PDF files of your InDesign layouts if you have PRINT-READY files and just need us to run them off.
One thing we have run into repeatedly with PDFs of InDesign files is that transparent layers do not render well thru the PDF to our XeroxDocuColor. Example: a white layer used to soften an image may go completely solid, blocking out the image behind it, or, the white layer may vanish completely -- making the background image 100% it's density... the better way to create the same effect is simply to tint screen the background image itself (making the image 30% or something).
