Pantone Ink Matching System

For decades the printing industry has used the Pantone Matching System as the standard for making sure we are all using the right ink color for a given job. Pantone started with just our field, but has branched out to interior decorating and others.  Even tho we don't always run a job on a press (where we would use their guide book to mix the correct colors together to achieve a "PMS" match) - we do still use their color system as a point of referrence in design and digital printout calibrating.

Achieving picky matches with a logo, for instance, requires creating the art in a program like Adobe Illustrator that will allow you to use the Pantone system to assign specific colors.  There are many steps involved (more on this later as time permits!) - but for starters it's best to come look at our front counter swatch book to find the color you desire -- then, if we are creating your logo we will know what you want us to aim for -- or, if you are using Illustrator to make the art yourself, you will know what it will look like on paper (as new flatscreen monitors cannot be trusted to show a true picture, as they are backlit).  Below are a couple screen shots to illustrate how we pick our colors:
